In June of 2022, our ACC and ACC-SW group joined 14 other team members from Louisiana, Alabama, Philadelphia, and Colorado to serve in a banana plantation in Honduras. We are grateful to have you all partner with us in prayer! The conversations with Denia were our answered prayer. She was a believer whom we got the privilege to meet. When we shared testimonies with one another, I saw the tension between sadness, isolation, and hopefulness in her eyes. We asked if we could come back tomorrow to study the bible together and if she had any questions, she could write them down. When we came back the next day, she had two pages of questions! From how to respond when people make her feel less than to how to grow in the faith, I was in complete awe of how much she wanted to know God as her personal God. Even though we did not always have the answers and the trials seemed to be certain for Denia, we leaned on the bible for guidance and hope. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus says he is the church planter, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. One thing we are certain of, God is growing His church in Honduras through believers like Denia! Please continue to pray that God will grow the faith of believers in the banana plantation, and they will be powerful witnesses of Christ’s love.
